The practice of dosing the auditory canal with pharmaceutical grade olive oil to soften compacted earwax prior to irrigation/syringing has long been established and is recommended by the UK’s National Health Service The Earol product is a patented and registered, class 1, medical device which uses metered dose pump technology to deliver olive oil to the auditory canal originally for the express purpose of softening and/or preventing compacted earwax, pre and post ear syringing. The product coats the outer ear, repelling water protecting the user from the chances of contracting swimmers ear caused by bacteria and fungi in the water.
