SCUBAPRO Phad torches use PWM technology
Phad torches use a much more advanced eletronic method, using a microprocessor inside the head to control LED. PWM (Pulse Width Modultaion) is controlled by the microprocessor and provides:
Perfect battery management, preventing damage by deep discharge.
Controls the LEDs at their perfect running current and at their maximum capacity without overload
Allows longer burn time because no wasted energy
Protects the light head against overheatding and controls the temperature so you can use your dive light underwater and on the surface
Incorporates a ‘soft start’ meaning the light is a bit less bright during the first few seconds when turned on, but then it maintains a much longer and brighter burning time compared to resistor LED lights.
With PWM technology dimming, strobe and SOS light functions are possible.
SCUBAPRO Phad torches have FPH technology
FPH is FLOOD PROOF HEAD Technology. SCUBAPRO is the first in the diving market with this fantastic teature!
This means, if a diver is changing the batteries, or connecting the umbilical, and drops the head into the water--NO DAMAGE to the HEAD!!
Or if a diver accidently opens the head from the body underwater: Again, NO DAMAGE to the Head (only the body will need rinsing and the batteries replaced).
FPH makes Phad lights virtually accident proof!
