AP Valves Sealing SMB
A revolutionary kind of Surface Marker Buoy - SMBC (Surface Marker Buoy Closed) by AP Valves is a self-sealing SMB, the pressure you exert to fill the buoy closes the buoy end. As the buoy starts to fill, the internal baffle is forced shut.
The automatic shutting of the baffle is an ease-of-use feature as well as a safety feature, as it prevents the accidental deflating of the SMB at the surface. This makes it reliable dive equipment, and you can dive, snorkel with peace as you are safe with the surface marker.
With a stream-lining flap that closes over the mouth in a current to prevent sea-anchor effect, and an AP5 over-pressure / dump valve which prevents the buoy from bursting, the buoy is thoughtfully created. The AP5 over-pressure / dump valve also allows deflation after use.
Use it as a standard surface marker, or as a decompression marker buoy, the SMBC features an eyelet at the top end to attach a strobe, message slate or any identification marker. Roll it up for easy storage and store it in the custom SMB pouch by AP Valve.
The Tec Buoy is a robust surface marker buoy with a quick release dump valve and a stainless steel connection for the inflator.
The buoy can be rolled up neatly and secured with an eastic bungee to be stowed into your pocket, it also have a metal D-ring for attaching a spool.
The SMB can also be orally inflated.
Dimensions: 120cm x 12cm
AP Valves SMB With Bottle
The self-sealing BUDDY SMBCi (Surface Marker Buoy - Closed with Inflation Cylinder) features a lightweight aluminium mini-cylinder (0.1 litre) which is mounted at the foot of the buoy just above the internal baffle.
Available in Bright Red, HiViz Red & Yellow, or as an all-Yellow Signal Buoy.
Simply attach a line or reel & you have a superb decompression marker buoy & also a buoy that can be used as a standard surface marker.
The SMBCi features a lightweight aluminium mini-cylinder (0.1 litre) which is mounted at the foot of the buoy just above the internal baffle.
Cylinder Dimensions: 0.1 litre - 115mm x 50mm diam.
Easily replenished from the main cylinder, the mini-cylinder is small enough to fold unobtrusively inside the SMB to be stowed in pouch or pocket.
Deployment is simply a question of unfurling the SMB & cracking open the cylinder
